Questions / Answers

When should my roster be complete?

As of December 20, 2025, priority is given to teams that have submitted a full roster.

How many players are required for a complete roster?

A team must have at least six players. Larger rosters are favoured according to the priority index.

Why encourage a minimum of seven players?

High demand and limited court availability make larger rosters helpful for covering absences.

How will teams be prioritised?

The committee follows the priority index (60–30–10) described in Section 5.

Does the ≥ 50% from last season rule apply to recreational level?

No. It applies only to teams that played at the Intermediate or Advanced level from last season.

I played recreational last season. Can I enter a team?

Yes. Your team will be placed on the waiting list unless you join an existing team.

What if two half-teams from the same squad both wish to re-enter?

The decision flowchart resolves most ties. If teams remain equal, the committee makes the final decision.

How will ties be broken?

The committee compares each criterion in order of weighting until a difference appears. If teams are still equal, the committee makes the final call.

Why require at least one woman or non-binary player?

Volley Boréal is an LGBTQ+ league. This rule ensures representation and supports our inclusive mission.

Will rules change because of this criterion?

League rules are already non-gendered for regular play and tournaments. No additional changes are planned.
