A career police officer with nearly 20 years of service, including several years as a Detective Lieutenant, Karl brings his experience in management, organization, and navigating complex situations to Volley Boréal.
An active member of the organization since 2008, he has served on the Board of Directors since 2019 and held the position of President for more than three years. Throughout his involvement, he has played an active role in the growth and development of Volley Boréal, including the creation of the intermediate division and beach volleyball league, the revision of regulations, policies, and the Code of Ethics, as well as the implementation of committees, clinics, and training programs.
His involvement also extends to the organization’s governance and operations, including the development of management and communication tools, the evolution of the website, financial management, partnerships, tournaments, recreational play, and social activities. His professional experience enables him to approach unexpected challenges and complex situations with composure and sound judgment.
In recognition of his commitment, Karl received the 2024–2025 Claude Mailhot Award, the most prestigious distinction presented by Équipe Montréal – LGBTQ+ & Allied Sports and Recreation. Awarded annually, it recognizes an individual, organization, or event for an exceptional contribution to the sporting or social development of the LGBTQ+ community, representing a significant recognition of Karl’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and welcoming sports environment.
A passionate volunteer deeply committed to Volley Boréal’s mission, Karl continues to contribute to the organization’s growth while fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and community-minded environment, with a focus on its long-term sustainability and development.

As a tax notary, I have been working in the banking sector for several years.
Having served on several committees, I would like to share my passion for volleyball.
With over 30 years of playing volleyball, the sport has allowed me to discover many wonderful experiences.
That is why my commitment to the Board of Directors of Volley Boréal League is to share my passion with everyone, without exception.
To help this great sport thrive at all levels, in an atmosphere of enjoyment and inclusion.

Drawing on his experience in governance at Rainbow Railroad, where Julien supports boards of directors in strategic planning and resource development, Julien brings valuable expertise to the growth and advancement of Volleyball Boréal. He is committed to fostering the league’s long-term sustainability through strategic vision, transparent governance, and strong member engagement. His goal is to help develop a collaborative strategic plan that establishes clear objectives, aligns organizational priorities, and supports the development of future leaders within the community.

Lawyer focusing his practice on corporate and commercial law, Karim possesses extensive expertise in governance and project development.
He is involved with the Board of Directors of Boréal to support the organization's mission and to actively contribute to the development of an inclusive and unifying space centered around his passion for volleyball.

Since joining Volleyball Boréal after moving to Montreal, Gregory has quickly become involved in the community, driven by a strong desire to contribute to the league’s growth and success. With extensive volunteer experience supporting a variety of community organizations across Canada, including work with refugee communities in Saskatchewan, he also brings valuable expertise in event planning gained through his involvement with the Vancouver Gay Volleyball Association (formerly VGVA). As a communications professional, he is committed to leveraging his skills to support Volleyball Boréal and enthusiastically collaborates on initiatives that advance the organization’s mission and goals.

Long involved in various volunteer and student engagements, Ludovic has always demonstrated a human and unifying leadership style.
His community involvement intensified following significant personal events in 2023—pivotal moments that fueled his desire to contribute to causes where respect, inclusion, and kindness are core values.
Thus, Ludovic became an administrator in the winter of 2024 and was quickly immersed in organizing the ODYSSEE 2025 tournament, managing communications through newsletters, and developing partnerships and sponsorships.
He became Vice President in June 2025 and has served as Acting President since January 2026.
Sensitive to diversity issues and the protection of LGBTQ+ individuals, Ludovic works to make Volley Boréal a safe, festive, and supportive environment.
Professionally, he is a specialist in procurement planning and supply management, as well as a project manager in continuous improvement. With a rich background in commerce, logistics, data analysis, and continuous improvement, he applies his skills to structuring projects both in sports and business settings.
He also develops creative projects related to well-being (sound massages using Tibetan bowls) and photography.

A passionate player since 2009, Caroline wishes, through her involvement on the board of directors, to help make this sport accessible to as many people as possible and to promote female participation within our league.

As professional in the pharmaceutical industry in insurance and quality management, Anthony has strong skills in project management and development and governance.
He discovered volleyball in 2024 through Volley Boréal and quickly developed a passion for the sport and an attachment to the group's spirit of inclusion and support, which motivated him to join the board of directors to support this welcoming environment and contribute to the league's continued growth and success, both on and off the court.
