VOLLEY BOREAL, Montréal’s GLBT volleyball club, invites you to take part in its 26th Big Jump 2009 Volleyball Tournament, which will be held during Columbus weekend/Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, from October 9 to 11, 2009. It will be an action-packed, fun-filled weekend and a unique opportunity to experience the warmth and joie de vivre for which Montrealers are world-renowned.

Competition Format

The Big Jump is a competitive tournament. AA-A-BB teams will all be playing together in the first qualifying round. Then, the teams will be divided into smaller pools after having played each of the 2 qualifying rounds. The players do not have to be ranked or be members of an association to participate.

B-C (Strong REC and REC teams) teams will all be playing together in the first qualifying round. Then, the teams will be divided into smaller pools after having played each of the 2 qualifying rounds. The players do not have to be ranked or be members of an association to participate.

The 26th BIG JUMP will also offer an all-women division (6 teams). Female players do not have to be ranked or be members of an association to participate.

BLACK & BLUE Festival

The Venue

More than forty teams from Europe, USA and Canada will join us and have an incredible weekend full of fun and friendship. This year, the tournament will again be held at the superb facilities of the Cégep Édouard Montpetit in the nearby suburb of Longueuil.

Registration

REGISTRATION WILL BE HELD FROM AUGUST 1st TO OCTOBER 2nd, 2009. The REGISTRATION FEE IS BASED ON A 7 PLAYER TEAM. ADD $30 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL PLAYER (cost of a banquet ticket).

• Early Registration fee is $550 CAD from August 1st to September 7th, 2009 (payment received).
• Late Registration fee is $600 CAD from September 8th to October 2nd, 2009 (payment received). No payment accepted on October 9, 2009 during Registration Night.
• American Teams:Send a check in USD$ as a guarantee. On Registration Night, the check will be given back to you in exchange for CAD$ ($550 CAD or $600 CAD, depending on when you registered).
