VOLLEY BOREAL, Montréal’s GLBT volleyball club, invites you to take part in its 25th Big Jump 2008 Volleyball Tournament, which will be held during Columbus weekend from October 10 to 12, 2008. It will be an action-packed, fun-filled weekend and a unique opportunity to experience the warmth and joie de vivre for which Montrealers are world-renowned.

Competition Format

The Big Jump is a competitive tournament. AA-A-BB teams will be all playing together in the first qualifying round. Then, the teams will be divided in smaller pools after having played each of the 2 qualifying rounds. The players do not have to be ranked or be member of an association to participate.

B-C (Strong REC and REC teams) teams will all be playing together in the first qualifying round. Then, the teams will be divided in smaller pools after having played each of the 2 qualifying rounds. The players do not have to be ranked or be member of an association to participate.

The 25th BIG JUMP will also offer an all-women division (6 teams). Female players do not have to be ranked or be members of an association to participate.

BLACK & BLUE Festival

The Venue

Forty teams from Europe, USA and Canada will join us and have an incredible weekend full of fun and friendship. This year, the tournament will again be held at the superb facilities of the Cégep Édouard Montpetit in the nearby suburb of Longueuil.

Registration

Registration will be held from August 1st to October 3rd, 2008. The registration fee is based on a 7 player team. Add 50$ for each additional player.

• Early Registration fee is $525 CAD from August 1st to September 3rd, 2008 (payment received).
• Late Registration fee is $575 CAD from September 4 to October 3rd, 2008 (payment received). No payment accepted on October 10, 2008 during Registration Night.
• American Teams: Send a check in USD$ as a guarantee. On Registration Night, the check will be given back to you in exchange for CAD$ ($525 CAD or $575 CAD, depending on when you registered).
